Rigby Indoor Pickleball Courts

A splendid new indoor pickleball facility opened in late October near Rigby, Idaho.  Blake Summers has invested heavily in helping promote indoor pickleball and tennis, too, at his home a couple of miles west of Rigby's downtown.  This 1:07 video sums up the facility and includes a short interview with Blake.  (Photos and additional narrative are below the embedded video.)

The cost for one pickleball court is $20 for 90 minutes.  Split four ways, that's a mere $5 a person.  Having such a wonderful indoor "by reservation only" facility will allow four people to play together for the full 90 minutes.  There are many advantages to such a system and Blake hopes it receives a warm and enthusiastic welcome from local and regional players. Blake Summers started playing tennis in 1993.  He's been assistant tennis coach at Rigby High School for ten years.  He really wanted to create a great indoor facility for tennis and added four pickleball courts to help the sport grow in Eastern Idaho.  The facility is also described on the USAPA "Places To Play" database here: https://www.places2play.org/place?id=5744
The red arrow shows the proximity of the Rigby Indoor Courts to US Highway 20 and downtown Rigby.  It's 10.25 miles from the Lewisville/Holmes on ramp to the first Rigby off ramp.  Drive another mile to the stoplight at tate Route 48.  Turn left and go about 2.25 miles to Road 3700 East.  3700 East is right between the two Rigby Elementary School.  Go north less than a half mile.
You can't miss the facility.  It's the largest building around!  There are lots of well-graveled parking places.  The building has state-of-the-art lighting and climate control.  It's the perfect environment.  Driving time from Idaho Falls is less than 20 minutes.

Step inside and this is what you're going to be delighted to find.  A professionally done indoor facility.  The same company that did the Idaho Falls Lincoln Park courts did the coatings and striping on the Rigby Indoor Courts.  It's like having outdoor courts inside a climate controlled facility!
The four nets are already assembled and staged near the far wall. Pick one up, place it and play!
Blake was thoughtful and kind enough to put ceiling to floor netting throughout the facility.  This will keep errant balls from getting lodged out-of-reach in the structural channels.
Controlled access to the facility is the name of the game.  Once you've met Blake and paid a $10 deposit, you will receive your own electronic key to the facility so you can come and go as you please.  Blake plans to make reservations available via a website.  As of early November, the website needs some adjustment so Blake asks anyone who wants to play to contact him via email or phone:

Here's another map view of the facility's location.  Blake began construction in April and finished up in late July.  Google Maps hasn't yet reflected the presence of the large new structure.  The Rigby Indoor Courts do not have indoor restrooms.  Blake is working on providing restroom facilities.
